Once you advance beyond the pseudo-Las Vegas city portions early in the game, all of the sprawling environments start to look too similar. That said, there isn't a huge or noticeable difference between most of the terrain. NFSP does a good job crafting a huge world to explore in your vehicles, and it also helps that you can do side missions based on speed as well as collect derelicts to build cars. The open world concept has become a little run of the mill. NFSP does offer some solid customization which can enhance the gameplay, visuals, and immersion, but it struggled to satiate my desires for depth and relevance. Online modes should help to create a community, but I struggled to see how this format would have players vested in the experience or their cars. The races are fun, but there really aren't many options with this multiplayer mode. ![]() I won't hold this against the title in my review score as I'm almost positive the issue will be rectified, but the game crashed on multiple occasions during the matchmaking process.Īs it is, you are allowed to race in a series of events in a ranked or unranked structure. ![]() ![]() The online components feel like more of an afterthought than a core piece of the complete experience–when I was able to access it.
